About Alains Fine Dining Restaurant

Alain Antonius began his culinary journey when first arriving to Australia in 1971 as an apprentice to one of Sydney's leading chefs at the time. It was through the course of his training that Alain developed his passion for classical French and European cuisine.

As Alain garnered more experience working in a variety of leading Sydney restaurants he enrolled in a sequence of Patisserie courses to fine tune what was swiftly becoming an apparent talent. This niche skill is clearly reflected in the extensive dessert menu at Alains Restaurant, along with the quality of his home made brioche roll that accompanies every meal being described by many gourmet diners as "better than in France!"

When Alain arrived in the Whitsundays in 2001 he went searching for the ideal location for his intimate French restaurant where he could provide a formal dining room reflecting the mood of the 1930's, providing the very best in cuisine, service, table and silverwear. In 2003 Alain opened his restaurant and promptly began to offer a uniqiue fine dining experience to local residents and visitors on holidays alike.
